Hello,

I've got an error in the Data catalog when I import shapes...
This message appears :

Failed
ERROR: 22P02: invalid input syntax for type double precision: "************". Attempting to retry...

What can I do?

Thank you
David

Hi David

You are best sending this shapefile into the support team for someone to look at.
If I was to guess, based on the error message one of the numeric fields (defined as double) has some invalid data crashing the importer.
If you open the shapefile in ArcGIS and take a look at all the numeric (double) fields look out for any obvious anomalies in the field names or values.

I'm having a similar problem. I just viewed the file in ArcMap as you suggested and don't see any bad values. Must be something else. I was able to find that the shp was GCS 1983. So I reprojected it to Stateplane Nad 83 and it worked. Must be a bad error code.

Hi Tiffany

Take a look at the related post here: http://forum.trimbleinsphere.com/topic10584-error-uploading-qgis-generated-shape-file.aspx#post14053

If your shapefile was generated via QGIS then Lorne H's post will be worth checking out
