Draft form

I collected several forms during a site inspection. Many of them remained drafts in the field unit, some did not. It appears that the draft forms are not uploaded to the Cloud. What did I do or not do in the field to close the draft forms? Is there a way to close them now that I'm in my office?

Trial expired before data was exported

Hi Hannah

You will need an active subscription to use the export functions.
If your trial has expired then so will your ability to export. We still allow you to log in to the web environment where you can view the form data collected, just not export.
This is to protect the software from misuse primarily and prevent people from simply using trial's without paying for the software.
You can turn a trial into an active organisation at anytime by purchasing and applying a Terraflex subscription either In app via credit card or through your local Trimble reseller.

I'm with a student organization that borrowed a GPS for a recent trip to Guatemala. We weren't able to sync the data from the app to InSphere until we returned due to poor reception. Unfortunately, our trial has now expired. I am trying to export the data to csv but the export buttons aren't popping up. Is this because our trial has expired? The data was pre-existing on our account so my understanding is that we should be able to access it still. What do I need to do to export?

Hi DaveH

If the forms occupy identical geographic coordinates then you will only be able to select the topmost layer from the map view.

What you can do is use the 'Filter' options to have updated forms 'disappear' from the map view after being updated.
In practice, after editting the top form and saving, this form will be filtered out of view and expose the remaining form.

To do this:

From the list view select the 'Filter' option

You can then untick the 'Updated' option - this will remove any updated forms from both the map and list view

You can bring these forms back into view at any time by enabling the 'Updated' check box

An alternative to this would be to use the list view exclusively, this allows you to select any form in the task regardless of the position it occupies on the map

I need to inspect fire hydrants and their associated isolation valves. Using shapefiles, can I make two separate forms and have the hydrant form popup when I click on the hydrant symbol and\or the valve form pop up when I click on the valve symbol in the same map??

Google Maps no longer available in TerraFlex

This is indeed a significant problem. The developers have not even removed the Google option from web interface or app! What were you thinking?
The decision to do this without consulting or even informing customers in advance shows just how poorly Trimble understands their users/customers.

This is a significant problem. We used Google maps to locate remote features (trees) with a reasonable level of accuracy for broad scale assessments. The Trimble satellite imagery is poor - and I shelled out for three new licenses in early May with no warning. Several colleagues are in the same boat. Is Trimble going to improve their imagery, or at least use an alternative, clear provider such as Bing or Esri?

I have exactly the same issue. Have not received any reply several weeks after e-mailing this question to support.
Trimble seem to make one bad decision after another when it comes to Terraflex.
Any tips for other tree survey apps with Google satellite imagery?

Hello!
Four years later ... and yes we could also use this function very well to have visibility in the field on what has already been surveyed and not. Thanks for re-considering and putting it back on the road-map!

I've had this issue a few times as well.

Tom's suggestion is a fix if the data isn't compatible and doesn't make it to the "converted to templates" stage.

It sounds like SupTF had all 5 work, then created as templates, but only 4 show up. A couple of solutions for me, refresh the page, close out of Insphere and reload, and cleared my internet cache. If those don't work, we've re-uploaded the file into insphere and recreated the template. This has worked too.

ArcGIS Domain to Terraflex Choices

Hi Darrel

Are you using the Terraflex Add-In and publishing your feature classes directly from the gdb?
In this case as long as the domains are setup and working correctly Terraflex will convert these to a list field in the form template.
If you start an edit session in ArcMAP and digitise a feature you can check the domains are all working correctly before you publish.

When you publish, the Add-In will create the feature classes and database schema as per the ESRI gdb.
This includes, text, numeric and date fields, any list fields (if domains are present), default values, choice fields (if the domain contains only 2 choices).

The latest Terraflex Add In and user guide can be found on the downloads page here

If you want us to check the gdb out then you can send this into the support team. Strip all the data out first, the blank gdb will be enough for us to check for any setup issues

Hi SupTF

Have you checked the Data > Data Catalog > Files view to see if this particular shapefile has any errors on import?
Common errors relate to projections or missing files - the topic The Data Uploader Does Not 'See' My Shapefiles goes through some of these

Hi Rob

Any cases submitted to the support team receive a case number.
If you private message me the details I can follow this up, check the status and see who is assigned this.
I'll make sure you get a quick response.

@dmellisjr - yes Terraflex support is very active. If you have an urgent issue then I'd encourage you to go through the support team - the contact details are listed in this topic. -

Forums are more appropriate for product discussions/ information sharing rather than urgent issues so try to choose appropriately. Forums also rely on an active community to make them work and not just one section.

Trimble has a global network of Trimble resellers who offer direct support for all the geospatial products they sell, this enables us to be very responsive at a local level so don;t be afraid to reach out to your nearest reseller.

Hi everyone.
I imported 5 shp to Insphere and converted to templates. The forms of 4 of them appeared in the Form View in Insphere. But one didnt show up, and it is just the one who have more features. Have passed more than 14 hours from when I converted to template. Have anyone passed from the same situation? What can I do?

Hi, I am new to Terraflex. I have a ArcGIS geodatabase. I have built domains for the fields so that I have a dropdown list to choose from. I publish to Terraflex and I look at the published forms in Insphere and the field type is text without the Choices. Is there some way to preserve the dropdown/choice field when is published. Of course I can build in Insphere and export the xml from the geodatabase but want the convenience of exporting straight back to ArcMap. Thanks for all your help.

Hi Tom,

We have contacted Trimble multiple times through the support and have not heard a word from them. I like others are finding it more difficult to receive support for TerraFlex/Inshpere these past few months.

Hello,

We have tried to sync a number of phones now for the past week or so and we receive the error "Sync: The server returned an error: 404." We are using Android phones (Samsung and Motorola).

All of the phones have the correct time and date/auto date and time (as I already searched for solutions on this forum and that was a possible solution). We have uninstalled, reinstalled, reset the phones, tried different accounts, and we have sent log files to Trimble. Alas no response.

Thank you,

Andrew
