Terraflex future?

You have to request access to the video on the learn site. It is a Distributor Webinar, so it was initially only open to Trimble Distributors. I have requested access and watched the video and I am excited to see the integration happen. However, the video says the integration was supposed to be available by now, so I'm sure there have been more kinks to work out. (its more a migration than an integration, but will allow for several of the functions myself and others have asked for in the past.)

Well gentlemen, (ScottG, scottF and EcoAnalyst). I don't think we are going to get our answer. Like we would go to a page and not create an account to see material that we were told was there! As I put in my post 9 days ago! "I see you posted a link about a webinar, I tried to access. I think that link is only valid if your a distributor not merely a customer. How can I find out more info about the upcoming transition and its expected parameters. (as a customer)" I sent a email to (learn.trimble.com) and screenshot Tom H message, maybe someone there can tell me why I can only see courses and no webinars. After 7 years of using this I have already started searching for alternatives, I cant wait every 10 days to have my concerns addressed.

The webinar is live, you need to create an account first with learn.trimble.com
Once you have this you can quickly find the webinar with the search tool and this title 'Trimble TerraFlex Integration with Trimble Connect - Distributor Webinar - September, 2017'

Tom,
This video does not exist, nor does ANY video referencing TerraFlex. This is concerning.

Hi Scott

I appreciate you frustration here but Terraflex has definitely not been abandoned.
The migration to the Connect platform has required significant work and will allow the software to grow again and be enhanced with the features it needs
We ran a Trimble University webinar on this migrations at the end of September.

This migration is imminent and will be followed by a series of exciting updates to Terraflex

Can you explain what this migration to Connect will mean to customers? I just watched a video about what Connect is meant to be and I didn't note a single feature that would be of any use to me.

Glad I'm not the only one unable to access the video. I would also like to know more about this transition, including release dates. Seems like it would help if there was some mention of this on the Terraflex product page.

Tom,
I see you have posted that TerraFlex will be migrating to Connect Platform? I have been using TerraFlex for over 7 years and have heard nothing about this? I see you posted a link about a webinar, I tried to access. I think that link is only valid if your a distributor not merely a customer. How can I find out more info about the upcoming transition and its expected parameters. (as a customer)

There doesn't seem to be many recent updates to Terraflex. If you go to the main product page, the last "News" was posted on January 2016. That's over two years ago. What does the future hold for Terraflex? Is this something that Trimble has more or less abandoned?

Terraflex - UTM support

hi all,

We primarily do all of our work in UTMs, typically NAD83, as that is usually what our clients require. It's what our field crews are used to when collecting data.

Is there any plan to display\collect data in Terraflex mobile in different coordinate systems like UTM? When will this feature be available in Terraflex mobile?

thank you!

Several questions regarding Terraflex

Dear Sir, Madam,

I have some questions regarding Terraflex. First some background information:

Our organisation is focussed on removing ordance from WW2 out of the soil. We are located in the Netherlands. After a testing period we decided to use Terraflex for our work. 90% of the time we receive an area in from our clients to search for ordnance. This area is drawn into ArcGIS and exported through the addon to a project in Terraflex. Then we have to select the area and create a task within the project to enable visibility of the imported data. The user of the project then will collect their forms to the project within the created task. When the project is completed the data is imported and a rapport is made from the data.

This whole proces created some questions on which i don't know if there is an answer to it.
1: We have several people working on one project. if someone collects a form within a task his colleages are not able to view the newly collected form in the task. Now we have to reselect the forms and create an new task. Is there an option that it will be instantly visible without creating a new task?
2: Is there an possibility to view the coördinates in Terraflex (preferably in RD-coordinates)?
3: Is there also an option to measure a distance in the app?
4: Is it possible to create an option in tasks that will change the colour when an form is updated (in the MAP)?
5: Is there also an option to add our own backgrounds (GEOTIFFs)?

Thanks in advance,

Jeroen de Groot

Is there a way to see the area with better accuracy to at least two decimal places?
Also, is there a way to see the area after you have uploaded the form by clicking and not having a specific sub section in the form?

There's no way to edit the feature type once it's collected, the attributes can be edited both on the device and in the web portal when sync'd to the cloud but the form type cannot.

A simple work round for this would be to use the digitising option in Terraflex mobile to manually place the valve where the hydrant is. You can then copy the attributes and sync it across. You won't have the GNSS metadata for manually collected form features but again you can copy this across when you export it out into your GIS/ database

Are you saying update a form that someone collected? If so, yes, you can edit forms after they have been collected.

Anyway to change collected forms... (i.e.) a fire hydrant that was supposed to be a valve?

Thanks!

View Acres/Acreage/Area

Is there a way to see the area with better accuracy to at least two decimal places? I have found in the form that the auto data collector can collect information for acreage, but the result is only a whole number. Also, is there a way to see the area after you have uploaded the form? When I click the areas that I have already marked off, it only gives me the option to edit the form of the collected data and not a way to see other relevant information, specifically acreage, without re-uploading the form after creating the auto data collector. I see that I can upload the csv, but I don't want the coordinates, just the area. Thank you!
